Bomma

BOMMA's parent company has been building glass cutting and engraving machinery since 1992. That explains one particularity of the house: it claims to have been the first to introduce robotic crystal cutting, which allows decoration and geometry no hand can hold to the same consistency.

The glassworks was built in 2012 at Světlá nad Sázavou, in the Vysočina region, and the brand began with cut drinking glass. The first pendant, Tim, arrived in 2015, designed by the Olgoj Chorchoj studio and free-blown without a mould by the glassmaker Ota Svoboda. A new tank furnace named Světluška, the firefly, was lit on 11 January 2023 after two months of construction, replacing the Klára furnace.

Everything happens under one roof, from furnace to cutting wheel, with a team of around three hundred. BOMMA also produces bespoke crystal for luxury houses, its site naming Tiffany, Dior and Chanel, and sells its raw glass to studio glassmakers as BOMMA Cullet. The catalogue divides into collections, glass objects and lighting constellations, installations assembled from several pieces.
