Californian Living produces made-to-measure rugs from Geneva, on rue Chantepoulet. The company publishes no founding year, and its founder describes himself simply as heir to three generations in textiles.
The model is integrated end to end: fibre sourcing, spinning, yarn dyeing, rug design and delivery. The wool comes from New Zealand, the cotton is organic, and weaving is done by hand in India or Nepal. Two certifications frame that chain, GoodWeave, which covers child labour in weaving, and OEKO-TEX Made in Green on the substances used.
Four ranges make up the catalogue, Napa, Palm Springs, Del Mar and Venice, with prices published by the square metre, between 250 and 290 francs. That pricing transparency sets the company apart in this selection: it sells online and has no showroom of its own.
