Minotti

Alberto Minotti opened a small sofa workshop in Meda in 1948, in the middle of the Brianza furniture district. The address has not changed since: Via Indipendenza 152. His sons Renato and Roberto took over in 1991, and the third generation joined in stages between 1998 and 2020.

The turning point was 1998, when the Milanese architect Rodolfo Dordoni became art director and took charge of coordinating every collection, a role he held until his death in 2023. From 2018 other names joined the catalogue under his coordination: Christophe Delcourt, nendo, Marcio Kogan and Studio MK27, GamFratesi, Inoda+Sveje, Hannes Peer, Giampiero Tagliaferri.

The craft is in the upholstery. Seating systems such as Freeman and Andersen come in a Duvet version, with extra-soft cushions, and a Tailor version, with sharper volumes and more graphic quilting. Everything else, tables, beds, storage, rugs, indoor and outdoor, is built around those seats. Since 2022 the company has been listed on the Italian register of historic brands of national interest.

Minotti sells only through approved dealers. In Geneva that dealer is Artopia: the collections are shown on Rue du Rhône and, since 2024, in a showroom given over entirely to the brand, Minotti Genève.
